Fred Rogers Productions (FRP) is looking for a Freelance Script Coordinator to support the NY based writing team on the Alma’s Way series. This is 60-65 week (pending start date) freelance role projected to start in late February.

This role is a great fit for a professional with experience editing, proofreading, and producing script drafts for a film or television series with a focused interest in creating meaningful media for kids. This role is located in NYC. This individual will be compensated on a 1099 basis.

 

 Responsibilities include:

 

  • Serve as a liaison between Alma’s Way writers and the rest of the production team.
  • Maintain and update series agenda.
  • Support and brief the Head Writer and Story Editor as needed. 
  • Proof and distribute all writing materials (premises, outlines, scripts, etc.)
  • Manage the master writing calendar. 
  • Adjust schedule as needed with input from other departments  
  • Create and distribute a weekly schedule (deadlines, writing meetings, coordinating with writers).
  • With support of Production Assistant, manage all writing documents including: episode files, premise development files, writing calendar, writers database, bible, ideas spreadsheet, script tracker, etc.
  • Collate and format all incoming notes for EP, Head Writer, and Story Editor, to review.
  • Maintain and send out Writers' Packet and any support materials as needed.
  • Work with Story Editor and Production Assistant to write necessary synopsis and loglines.
  • Work with Production Assistant to create all "As Broadcast" scripts.
  • Gather all music and lyric credit information for PA.
  • Collect story research, references as needed.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years tv/film production or writing experience (children’s media experience preferred)
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets), Final Draft scripting program; Word/Google Docs; Google Drive
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with diverse individuals
  • Careful attention to detail with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Patience, empathy, flexibility, and kindness
  • Familiarity with Puerto Rican/Nuyorican culture is a plus.
  • Spanish Fluency is a plus.
